Creating a promotion code

On this page you will find:

Promotion codes are customer-shareable codes created on top of coupons and can be shared directly with your attendees. For example, two promotion codes, FALLPROMO and SPRINGPROMO, both generated from the same 25% off coupon.

When a promotion code is used, it applies to an entire order even if it is designed to be used only once. This means that if an attendee purchases two tickets in a single order with a promotion code meant to only be used once, the code will still apply to both tickets.

To create a promotion code, you must first create a coupon. For a how-to, reference this article Creating a coupon.

Once a redemption limit for a coupon has been met, the status will be Invalid — any promo codes associated with the coupon, even if the redemption limits for the promo code have not been met, will not be redeemable by attendees.

Only Group Organizers have the ability to manage and create promotion codes for all events within groups they are part of. Only Event Organizers have the ability to manage and create promotion codes for events they have been given access to.
