Verifying your identity

To help MeeteR protect both you and the platform owner when you sign up for your payments account, we will need to verify the details that you enter. MeeteR might ask you to verify your identity. In most cases, this requires you to submit a picture of a piece of government-issued photo identification, along with any required supporting business documentation.

If any verification is required for your event, then the payment account owner can upload the required documents from a banner that appears on the Payments tab of the event.


Individual

To sign up your payment account as an “individual,” you will need to provide the following details so that we can verify your identity: First name, last name, date of birth, home address, and in certain locations, full or partial individual tax number (like a partial SSN in the US).

Company

If you sign up as a “company,” we’ll need to verify your company information in addition to your personal identity.

You’ll need to provide the following details about your company: legal business name, legal type, business website, incorporated country, incorporated state, legal address, taxpayer number, your business identification number (in the US this is different from your employer identification number), along with the identifying details of the primary point of contact for the business.

The name of the business identification number may vary by location, and while not exhaustive, it may be known by the following names:

  • Entity number or ID

  • Business number or ID

  • Department number or ID

  • Company number

  • Filing number

  • Document number

  • Control number

  • Organization number

  • Charter number

  • License number

  • Registry number

If you need help locating your business identification number, you can try looking up your business registration information on your local government website where you registered, or contact your local government office directly for more assistance.

If we cannot verify your business information, you will be notified via the Payments tab found on your Event Manager to re-enter your business details to confirm the details are correct. If your information looks correct and you continue to have trouble, please contact your local tax authority or applicable government entity, where the business is registered, for more assistance.


Additional verification

If we can’t verify your identity from the details you provided for your payment accounts, we will request additional information. For example, this is what it might look like:


To verify your identity for setting up payment accounts, first make sure that you correctly entered all your personal as well as your financial information on your payment account.

Check on your financial information:

  1. Navigate to the Manage Event page of the specific event that needs additional verification

  2. Click Payments

  3. Select the item that needs to be completed:

    1. Click Update Address and make the necessary corrections

    2. Click Country verification - you may verify via:

      1. Tenancy Agreement

      2. Government-issued photo ID

      3. Bank Statement

      4. Legal document with name and address

      5. Utility bill

      6. Mobile phone bill

Make sure the image or images of your documents are clear and legible but do not alter the photograph/scan. If they're not, we may ask you to upload a better version.

Typically, it will take 5-10 minutes to review pending approval items.
